Seasonal Mood Food - My new book!!!
Easy everyday recipes and fun facts to improve your mental health
You’ll have to forgive the interlude this week if you were looking forward to digging into a a new seasonal vegetable. It’s back to normal next week with a spotlight on carrots and a cosy soup recipe so don’t go away, please!
But I’m just so excited I have to dedicate a whole post to the fact that… I’ve written a cookbook!!!!
The book is called Seasonal Mood Food - Easy everyday recipes and fun facts and it’s a 4 part series which will come out at the start of each season. So you’ve guessed it, I’m releasing Volume 1 : Autumn.
The book is available to purchase on Amazon now as an eBook or paperback.
But before you take a look at it, you might want to read a bit more about what’s in it. Let’s start with why I started my brand Spoonful of Felicity. I love to cook! It’s always been my happy place and I learned a lot about traditional culinary techniques through my training and growing up in France. My favourite thing to cook though is vegetables. I love the wide variety of flavours, textures and colours they offer. Each one can be transformed by different techniques and using different pairings into something special. But the more wide eyes I received when I told people my favourite thing to cook was salads, the more I realised how unpopular this preference can be. And so Spoonful of Felicity started to take shape, with the aim of sharing not only the passion for food and cooking that my french upbringing brought me, but also how I transform vegetables and healthier dishes into delicious exciting meals. And for the past few years I have become even more passionate about the fascinating history these ingredients have, I mean think of Julius Caesar munching on some fennel, we have been eating them for millennia! And we’ve known they’re good for us for millennia too. They can help not only our body, but also our brain function to be its best. It’s incredible the amount of research now going into how plants can improve our mental health!
Saying this, I know it’s easier said then done to just start eating more fruit and veg. It used to be 5 fruit/veg a day, now we’re starting to hear everywhere that we’re meant to eat over 30 different plants a week. But who has time to count up every single plant and think of ideas for what to cook! Let alone have time to cook it! Well this is where I hope to come in.
As I’ve eluded to, health to me isn’t just about the body, it’s also about the brain and our mood. To achieve well-being and healthy living, we not only need to eat lots of different plants, we also want to enjoy what we eat!
Good mood food starts with meals everyone RAVES about!

As the autumnal days get shorter and we lose daylight, it’s common for some of us to start feeling low. That’s why I felt Autumn was a good time to start, as my recipes aim to help lift your mood.
